The 2021 Best Bet Corner PGA Tour Betting Challenge: Sentry Tournament of Champions

It’s a new year which means PGA Tour golf is back and a chance at redemption for those who didn’t turn an ROI in golf picks last year. I’m not going to lie, I had a bit of luck on my side in hitting win bets on Collin Morikawa at the PGA Championship and Jon Rahm at the BMW Championship last August. It was an awesome, profitable month. But we’re simplifying the rules a bit this year to see if the others can keep pace.

Like last year, each picker will get a simulated $200 to bet; $100 of which will be on win bets and another $100 on top-5, top-10, and top-20 bets only. The kicker this time is that the money can only be spent on a maximum of three golfers in each category. Picking winners has never been so difficult.

Here’s how the four of us fared in 2020:

Eric: +$1522.50 (19 weeks)

Michael (BBC Producer): -$100.25 (14 weeks) Parlay Kid: -$253.75 (18 weeks)

Harry: -$1639 (19 weeks)

This week’s tournament only features tournament winners in 2020 + the top 30 in last year’s FedEx Cup (due to the reduced number of tournaments last season). There’s a field of 42 on this rare par 73 course at Kapalua so expect birdies to be aplenty this weekend.

Since it’s a winners only event, it’s fitting that I’ll be the only one making picks this week. We’ll bring back the normal crew for the start of our picks challenge next week!
